Our instant issue ATM Card provides immediate card access to any new or existing deposit account.

Our new EMV Chip Card provides more security than traditional magnetic  strip cards. Use your card anywhere that accepts MasterCard debit cards world-wide. Use it at an ATM, over the phone, on the internet, or with most merchants. Your card can be used at chip & non-chip terminals.

Promptly Report a Lost or Stolen Card

To report a lost or stolen card during regular business hours, contact your Local Branch or call Customer Service at 800-686-2052. For after-hours assistance, call 800-528-2273. For after-hours assistance outside of the United States, call 812-647-9794.

EMV Debit MasterCard Activation 

Did you just receive your new EMV Debit MasterCard in the mail?  To activate your new EMV Chip Card by phone, call 866-619-0245 at any time or contact your Local Branch for assistance during regular business hours.

Surcharge Free ATM Withdrawals

Avoid paying a Surcharge Fee whenever you use an ATM displaying the Jeanie® logo to complete a cash withdrawal or when using any UMWSB ATM located at one of our Branch Locations.

(ATM Fees. You may be charged a fee if you complete a Deposit at a  Jeanie ATM or any ATM not owned by us. When you use an ATM not owned by us, you may be charge a fee by the ATM operator or any network used, and you may be charged a fee for any transaction, including a balance inquiry, even if you do not complete a funds transfer.)

How to Use Your EMV Debit MasterCard (Chip Card) 

4 easy steps to use your EMV Debit MasterCard (chip card)!

 (1.) Insert your card into the ATM or point of sale terminal, following the  instructions on the terminal. Leave the card in the terminal until your transaction is complete.

 (2.) The ATM will require that you enter your 4-digit PIN. The point of sale  terminal may require you to input your 4-digit PIN or sign your sales receipt to complete the purchase.

 (3.) For sales transactions, the terminal will display your purchase amount.

 (4.) When your transaction is complete, it is important to remember to remove your card.

MasterCard Zero Liability Protection

As a Debit MasterCard cardholder, Zero Liability applies to your purchases made in the store, over the phone, by mobile device, and ATM transactions. As a cardholder, you will not be held responsible for unauthorized transactions processed over the MasterCard network if: (1.) you have used reasonable care in protecting your card from loss or theft; and (2.) you have promptly reported to your financial institution when you knew that your Debit MasterCard was lost or stolen. (Zero Liability does not apply to Instant Issue ATM Cards.)

MasterCard SecureCode™

The MasterCard SecureCode feature provides Debit MasterCard users added security when completing certain online purchases at participating merchants. To take advantage of this free service, enroll your Debit MasterCard today at MasterCard SecureCode. (To enroll, select “United Midwest Savings Bank – Debit Card” from the Participating Financial Institutions drop-down list and follow the instructions provided.)

Are You Traveling Out-of- State? Take These Steps Beforehand

For added security, certain types of transactions, states, or countries where fraud is prevalent will sometimes be blocked in order to help protect you from becoming a victim. We regret any inconvenience you may experience and assure you that these actions are to protect you and your account.

If you notify us in advance of your travel plans, including dates of travel, we will review your card settings and make your card available for use in those areas while you are visiting them to help prevent interrupted service.

While traveling, we advise cardholders to carry another form of payment, especially when traveling out-of-state or outside of the United States, in case a merchant is unable to process card transactions at the time of purchase for any reason or in case your card becomes lost or stolen. It is also a good idea to periodically review purchase history online while traveling. If you do not recognize a transaction, promptly contact your Local Branch, or report your card as compromised using the after-hours assistance phone numbers above.

Protecting Your EMV Debit MasterCard or ATM Card

Protecting your Debit MasterCard or ATM Card from fraud requires 24/7/365 days a year monitoring. Our fraud detection programs monitor your card transactions for any suspicious activity. If potentially fraudulent transactions are taking place, we’ll contact you immediately so that future fraudulent transaction can be avoided.

What We Monitor:

Card transactions are monitored for purchases outside your normal purchasing patterns, unusual timeframes and geographical locations, or purchase patterns that are consistent with previously identified fraud trends.

How We Contact You:

Getting in touch with you quickly is critical to stopping any potential card fraud. 86% of American have a mobile device and this offers a convenient method to contact you fast. With our Card Alert Notification service, you will receive a text message asking you to confirm if a suspicious transaction was authorized by you. (Text messages to your mobile device are free, but all other fees on calls and texts are subject to the terms of your voice/data plan with your mobile carrier.)

Receiving a Text Message:

  • The text message will arrive with a 5-digit code (33748) and contain our Bank Name, dollar amount of the transaction, and merchant name.
  • You will be asked to reply with a “Yes” if you authorized the transaction. You will receive a confirming text message and can continue to use your card with confidence.
  • A “No” reply means you have not authorized the transaction. You will receive a confirming text message and you will be contacted immediately by a fraud specialist to protect your account. Please answer this important call.
  • Do not reply to the text message with any personal or confidential card information.
  • If you would like to opt-out of receiving these important messages by text, you may reply with “STOP” to indicate this preference.

 

Help Us Protect Your Card When You Travel:

  • Keep us up-to-date with your current mobile and home phone numbers and contact information.
  • Traveling in the United States or to a foreign country for an extended period of time? Contact us prior to your departure and we’ll make our monitoring more flexible during your travel or vacation time.

Fraud Alerts and Card Breaches Notice

We promptly react to fraud alerts and news of possible card breaches.  Cardholders may sometimes read or hear about these in the news. Know that if we receive information indicating that your card may have been compromised, we will promptly notify you of this possibility and place a block on the card to protect you and your account. We do our best to help prevent any inconvenience to you and will replace the compromised card with a new card number that should arrive within 10 business days. If you are waiting on a replacement Debit MasterCard to be mailed to you, but still need access to your account during non-business hours, please ask your Local Branch about using an Instant Issue ATM Card during this time. If you use your Debit MasterCard to make recurring payments to a biller, please remember to provide the biller with your new card number.
